Real feedback from the organisations we work with — on what the data found, and what changed as a result.
We are a young company and these are our early customers, we worked hand in hand with them — walking the buildings, reading the data alongside them, discussing what it meant. It taught us which findings matter, and what an engineer does with one. The platform now does that work itself. We still walk a building before we price its installation; we no longer need to be onsite all the time for the findings to arrive.
The £16,000 is the Centre's own figure. The carbon reduction is measured from our metering at the site, and is not part of the quote below.
…the improvements that have been made mean we now have happier users and none of the previous complaints about our heating.
Partnering with Prioto has made a significant difference to the energy efficiency of our Centre. Following an initial 3-month trial period, Prioto technology provided us with clear usage information and easy, automated control over what previously was a difficult building to manage. As a charity, it is crucial for us to account for every penny spent and saved so that our funding can be focused on delivering services for our centre users. Prioto optimisation ultimately led us to a significant reduction in our annual gas and overall energy budget, saving us £16,000 in the first year. We are delighted to be able to re-invest this saving in our services.

Given the environmental and financial challenges we all face, being carbon efficient whilst making sustainable savings is extremely important for our Charity. Having a trusted Prioto Adviser ensures that we have total confidence in doing just that. More importantly, as a provider of services to vulnerable individuals and families, the improvements that have been made mean we now have happier users and none of the previous complaints about our heating.
…we won't be making these big investment decisions blind; we will be led by real data.
Mugdock Investments Ltd bought Williams Window Fabrication Ltd in Feb 2024. Our year 1 focus is on modernising and optimising the business. A large part of that is reducing costs and understanding what we need to in order to transition to net zero.

Prioto have helped us understand our starting point. The data tell us that our property (factory, storage and office) is hugely energy inefficient. It cools down as soon as our heating is turned off.
We are therefore working with them to find solutions that will help us heat more efficiently. Alongside that, we are presenting these data to our landlord to hopefully convince them to invest in the property and properly insulate it. If that does not happen then we may be led to look for a more energy efficient building, or perhaps buy the property and invest in it ourselves. Either way, we won't be making these big investment decisions blind; we will be led by real data.
Aside from the product itself, the entire team are a joy to work with. I recommend Prioto to any business owners who want to make strategic decisions with all the information at hand.
Although thermostats were set to 21°C, temperatures were regularly overshooting to 24°C.
Prioto supported Drymen Village Hall in reviewing our energy usage and identifying heat loss throughout the building. They provided a range of practical and insightful recommendations to improve energy efficiency, reduce heat leakage, and explore alternative technologies suitable for a community facility.

Following the installation of monitoring equipment, Prioto helped us pinpoint several sources of heat loss. These included instances where bookings were cancelled without corresponding adjustments to the heating system, as well as a lack of responsiveness to changes in weather conditions. They also identified the need for improvements in draught-proofing, including underfloor insulation, ageing doors and windows, and air vents. In addition, Prioto supported us in assessing the benefits and risks of various technologies, such as Wi-Fi controlled heating, infrared heaters, solar generation, and battery storage.
Using this information alongside advice from Business Energy Scotland, we successfully accessed funding to undertake energy efficiency improvements. These included installing underfloor insulation and Wi-Fi-enabled remote heating controls.
Once the new equipment was installed, Prioto's monitoring software proved invaluable in helping us understand and optimise our new heating system, which consists of ceramic electric Wi-Fi heaters. These heaters addressed a previous issue by warming the hall more effectively, improving comfort for users. However, the internal thermostats are positioned low on the units and, in a large open space, did not fully account for the volume of the hall. As a result, the system was frequently overheating the space.
Prioto's real-time monitoring allowed us to clearly identify this issue. Although thermostats were set to 21°C, temperatures were regularly overshooting to 24°C. Using this data, we were able to reduce the thermostat settings by 3°C to consistently achieve the desired temperature. While we have yet to experience a full spring and summer cycle, we anticipate continuing to use Prioto's monitoring technology to understand seasonal performance, maintain comfort, and avoid unnecessary energy use.
Having completed this initial phase of improvements, we are now keen to explore further options recommended by Prioto. These include solutions for heating our more challenging upstairs room and investigating the potential of solar generation and battery storage. These technologies could enable the village hall to continue operating as a community hub during power outages — something our wider community experienced earlier this year during Storm Éowyn.
Prioto's technology has made this process much easier to understand and see in real time what is going on. Campbell has been incredibly insightful and knowledgeable across not just the platform but also wider building heating use, energy technologies and has offered some helpful tips around saving energy from a charity perspective. We are very grateful to have had their help and expertise.
